Volunteer Program

Kenya Fencing Federation (KFF) is non profitable organization registered under Sports Act Of 2013 to promote and develop the sport of fencing in Kenya. To reach its Maximum potential, KFF seeks volunteers to support the federation achieve its mission and objectives.

The Federation welcomes applications for the following positions who wish to serve as Volunteers:

  4. 4. Administrators
  1. 5. Marketing executive
  2. 6. Operations
  3. 7. Media and photography
  4. 8. Graphic Designer

Please note: Due to the large number of volunteer applications, it may take some time to process your application. You will receive confirmation of receipt of your application by email after a successfull submission of your details. In due course we will then contact you if your application is successful. If you are offered a volunteer role, you will receive notification of your role and venue by email.
The federation highly encourages parents and teachers to apply.

If your application is unsuccessful, we will contact you to offer you a place as a reserve volunteer. In circumstances where a suitable volunteer role becomes available will contact reserve volunteers. If you require further information, please email us on programmes@fencing.co.ke

General Information

To ensure the safety of all personnel involved in the KFF, volunteers may be required to undergo a Police Check as part of the selection process. An arrest or conviction will not automatically eliminate you from consideration for volunteering. However, failure to list all pending charges and/or convictions may lead to your disqualification or termination of volunteering.

Volunteer Agreement

As a volunteer assisting the Kenya Fencing Federation (KFF) (including its employees, athletes, coaches, referees, agents, sponsors, contractors etc.), I agree that, at all times, I shall:

  • ✔ Work for KFF in a volunteer capacity without financial payment, incentive, contemplation of compensation or future employment;
  • ✔ Consider as confidential all information which I may hear or see, directly or indirectly, concerning KFF.
  • ✔ Abide by the Terms and Conditions outlined in the KFF’s constitution, rules, regulations and policies as amended from time to time;
  • ✔ Attend all volunteer sessions as prescribed by KFF;
  • ✔ Attend all volunteer shifts as allocated by KFF, and inform the Federation or my supervisor as soon as possible if I am unavailable due to illness, injury or extreme circumstances;
  • ✔ Represent KFF in a professional and courteous manner at all times;
  • ✔ Undertake my tasks and duties as outlined to me, and follow the directions of my supervisor;
  • ✔ Seek assistance as needed from my supervisor or a KFF staff member;
  • ✔ Be neat and presentable at all times during volunteering;
  • ✔ Handle all information, equipment and materials assigned to me in a safe and responsible manner;
  • ✔ Not incur any debt or pledge any credit on behalf of KFF at any time without the approval of the federation;
  • ✔ Advise KFF of any situation that is unsafe or not satisfactory, or any tasks that I feel I am unable or uncomfortable undertaking as part of my duties for volunteer.
  • ✔ Provide with immediate effect necessary documentation to support my volunteer application.

In return, I understand that KFF shall use all reasonable endeavors to provide:

  • 1. A safe and enjoyable environment in which to perform my tasks and duties;
  • 2. Training and supervision to enable me to carry out my duties as a volunteer;
  • 3. Recognition of my status as a volunteer, including benefits such as meals and facilitation depending on the nature of my volunteer role; and
  • 4. A mechanism to report any unsafe or unsatisfactory situations that I could be faced with.

Acceptance as a volunteer is contingent upon satisfactory references, verification of information submitted on the applications and satisfactory completion of mandatory requirements. I authorize that all references thus contacted be released from all liability in answering questions related to my application.

I hereby certify that the answers on this application and any resulting from interviews are true and correct and that any misrepresentations or omissions of facts, misleading, or false information on my part will be grounds for dismissal as a volunteer.

I acknowledge and agree that I undertake my duties as a volunteer for KFF at my own risk and have no claim against KFF (including its employees, athletes, coaches, referees, agents, sponsors, contractors etc.) for any loss suffered by me. I also acknowledge and agree that KFF reserves all its rights to supplement, amend or otherwise vary any and all Terms and Conditions, and policies and procedures that affect my role as a volunteer at any time and without notice. KFF also reserves all its rights to vary or change my responsibilities as a volunteer or withdraw its appointment of me as a volunteer at any time, without being required to show cause.
